Jakarta, Indonesia – AG proudly announces that the World’s most famous football club, Manchester United, will play in Jakarta on Monday, July 20th, 2009. The event shall be exclusively promoted by AG and headed by Retired Armed Services Officer General Agum Gumelar.

Pak Agum commented “I am proud to announce an event that is likely to be Indonesia’s event of the year in 2009 – a football match featuring the Club World Champions Manchester United. This is an important opportunity to promote Indonesia to the world. As a former Chairman of PSSI (the Indonesian Football Association) Pak Agum is no stranger to important football matches. Together with PSSI they will ensure that the match is a tremendous success and hope that Indonesia’s Manchester United fans will have a fantastic night of entertainment.
PSSI shall select an Indonesia All Star team to play against the World Club Champions. The match will be played at the Gelora Bung Karno Stadium. Kick off time and ticket pricing will be advised shortly.

According to Manchester United Chief Executive David Gill in a press statement, he said: “We are delighted to be coming back to Asia for our summer tour. The passion and excitement of the games has to be experienced to be believed. The tour is great preparation for the new season, a chance to engage with our commercial partners and for us to meet the local communities through our work with the MU Foundation.”
